During his official visit to New York, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has held a bilateral meeting with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, who commended Kyrgyzstan’s progress and its vital role in promoting peace and stability in Central Asia.
President Japarov congratulated the UN on its 80th anniversary, expressing gratitude for the organization’s global leadership and reaffirming Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to the core principles of the UN Charter, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan remains a dedicated member of the international community, ready to contribute to global efforts in areas such as climate change, poverty reduction, conflict prevention, and social equity.
Extending a gesture of partnership, President Japarov officially invited Guterres to take part in the SCO+ Summit, which is scheduled to be held in Bishkek in autumn 2026.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation, with a shared focus on sustainable development, regional security, and the protection of human rights.
To commemorate the meeting, President Japarov also signed the UN Distinguished Guests’ Book, underscoring Kyrgyzstan’s ongoing engagement with the international system.
