Deadly Russian Missile Strike Hits Ukraine's Kyiv, Two Killed and Dozens Wounded

Ukraine's Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko has said that two people were killed and at least a dozen others injured after Russia launched ballistic missiles at Kyiv.

“One of those injured in the attack has died in hospital. With this strike, Russia killed two Kyiv residents,” Tkachenko wrote on Telegram, The Caspian Post reports via DW.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the number of injured had risen to 12, including three people hospitalized.

The strike occurred around 4:00 a.m. (GMT+3) on October 25, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, and sparking fires across several districts.

The Ukrainian Air Force had issued an early warning about ballistic missile threats from the northeast, later detecting “high-speed aerial targets” heading toward the capital.

Klitschko reported that large fires broke out in non-residential areas of the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts, where several cars also caught fire. In the Dniprovskiy district, residential buildings were damaged, windows shattered, vehicles destroyed, and a crater formed in a courtyard.

Tkachenko later confirmed that a kindergarten in the same district was also damaged in the attack.

Following the strike, the Ukrainian Air Force issued a nationwide alert over potential ballistic missile attacks, though no further details were provided.
