Italy Triumphs in Thrilling 3-2 Victory Over Türkiye to Claim World Championship

The Italian Women’s National Volleyball Team captured their second FIVB Volleyball World Championship title, edging out Türkiye 3-2 in a dramatic final in Bangkok.

Italy secured victory with set scores of 25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 19-25, 15-8, in a closely contested match against Türkiye, who made their first-ever appearance in a World Championship final and earned the silver medal, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Paola Egonu led the Italian side with 22 points, while Melissa Vargas was the top scorer for Türkiye with 33 points.

In the battle for third place, Brazil defeated Japan 3-2 (25-12, 25-17, 19-25, 27-29, 18-16) to claim the bronze medal.
