US President Donald Trump is expected to arrive in Ankara on July 7 with a delegation of around 1,000 people, as Türkiye prepares for one of the most significant diplomatic visits of the year.
Ahead of the leaders' summit, Trump is scheduled to be received at the Presidential Complex for an official visit. He will hold one-on-one talks with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, followed by expanded meetings between the US and Turkish delegations. The two leaders are also expected to hold a joint press conference, The Caspian Post reports via Hürriyet.
The US president is expected to bring his presidential limousine and a presidential helicopter to Türkiye, with the aircraft to be assembled after arriving in Ankara.
The talks are expected to focus on several major defense and security issues, including engine supplies for Türkiye's KAAN fighter jet, the F-35 program, CAATSA sanctions, and potential new defense projects between the two NATO allies.
Regional security will also feature prominently on the agenda. The leaders are expected to discuss Türkiye's security concerns in Syria, US policy toward the PKK/YPG, the American military presence in the region, the Gaza ceasefire process, tensions between Israel and Iran, the Russia-Ukraine war, Black Sea security, and broader NATO cooperation.
Turkish officials reportedly view the meeting as more than a routine bilateral engagement, expecting it to produce strategic decisions that could shape a new era in US-Türkiye relations.
For the first time, the defense industry is also expected to be a central theme of the summit, with Türkiye aiming to strengthen its role as one of NATO's leading defense manufacturers and a key contributor to the alliance's evolving security architecture.
