Türkiye on Tuesday unveiled its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
The missile, named “Yıldırımhan,” is reported to have a range of 6,000 kilometers (3,728 miles) and a speed between Mach 9 and Mach 25, The Caspian Post reports, citing Daily Sabah.
Developed by the research and development center of Türkiye’s National Defense Ministry, the missile was officially presented at the SAHA 2026 defense and aerospace exhibition, which opened on Tuesday.
The debut marked the first public display of one of the country’s most advanced long-range missile systems.
According to Anadolu Agency, Yıldırımhan uses liquid nitrogen tetroxide as fuel and is powered by four rocket propulsion engines.
The unveiling comes as Türkiye continues to strengthen its domestic defense industry, with ongoing developments in unmanned systems, missile technologies, air defense, aviation, and space platforms.
SAHA 2026, organized by SAHA Istanbul, has brought together defense and aerospace companies, procurement officials, military delegations, and industry representatives from Türkiye and other countries.
Türkiye has previously introduced a number of missile systems, including the Tayfun Block-4 hypersonic missile, which was unveiled last year.
