The Central Bank of Türkiye has announced that its official international reserves reached a historic peak of $180.1 billion as of September 5.
This marks a 1% increase, or $1.75 billion, from the previous week’s figure, setting a new all-time high according to data released on Thursday, The Caspian Post reports, citing Turkish media.
Foreign currency reserves - in convertible foreign currencies - were down 2.2% to $81.4 billion compared to the previous week.
The bank's gold reserves - including gold deposits and, if appropriate, gold-swapped - surged 4.1% to $90.9 billion in the same period.
Meanwhile, total IMF reserve position and special drawing rights fell 0.1% to reach $7.7 billion.
