Tajik Migrants to Skip Medical Checks in Russia

Labor migrants from Tajikistan will complete mandatory medical screening in their home country instead of undergoing the process after arriving in Russia.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a decree approving a bilateral agreement between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

Once the document enters into force, it will establish a legal framework allowing Tajik workers to pass medical screening prior to departure for Russia. Officials say the move is expected to streamline procedures, reduce administrative burdens, and speed up employment processing for both sides.

The agreement is seen as part of broader efforts to regulate labor migration more efficiently while ensuring compliance with health requirements before entry into Russia.

The new system could significantly simplify the migration process for thousands of Tajik citizens seeking work abroad each year.
