The international business forum “Khatlon Invest-2025” has opened in Tajikistan's Bokhtar city, bringing together representatives of international financial institutions and business leaders from Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Iran, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, China, and Türkiye, along with local and foreign entrepreneurs.
The two-day event aims to showcase investment opportunities in Khatlon Region and foster partnerships for new business ventures and joint projects, The Caspian Post informs via Tajik media.
The forum’s program includes two major panel discussions: the first focuses on investment for sustainable regional development, digitalization, and private sector partnerships, while the second explores the development of value chains in agriculture, including the import and processing of agricultural products in Khatlon.
Discussions will also cover ways to attract investment into agro-industry, free economic zones, tourism, logistics infrastructure, and access to new markets. Participants will have the opportunity to tour industrial sites in Bokhtar, Kulob, Nurek, and the Dangara Free Economic Zone to get a first-hand look at the region’s industrial and investment potential.
The forum is expected to result in the signing of new cooperation agreements between domestic and international companies in key areas such as agriculture, local product processing, and infrastructure development.
Special attention will be given to introducing new technologies in agriculture, improving logistics and transport systems, and creating new jobs to enhance the competitiveness of local products. Tourism and environmental projects are also high on the agenda, with the goal of making Khatlon even more attractive for investors.
Alongside the discussions, a regional exhibition of local goods and services will be held, allowing participants to explore the economic potential and investment opportunities of the region.
Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2025 edition continues the momentum of Khatlon Invest-2024, where over 30 cooperation agreements worth $200 million were signed - further strengthening trade and economic ties between Khatlon and international partners.
