Tajikistan-UK Mining Forum Convened in London

The Tajikistan-United Kingdom Mining Forum took place in London, organized by the Embassy of Tajikistan in the UK with support from Tajikistan's Ministry of Industry and New Technologies.

The forum, which was held for the first time in the history of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom, was attended by leaders and officials from the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries, investors, management and representatives of mining industry, influential companies and enterprises around the world, totalling over 150 participants, The Caspian Post reports citing Akipress.

The delegation from Tajikistan attended this forum, led by the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sherali Kabir. The delegation also included the Head of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Ilhomjon Oimuhammadzoda, along with leaders and representatives from various governmental agencies and private companies.

The objective of this Forum was to enhance and broaden collaboration within the mining sector through an open dialogue between representatives of government authorities of the two countries, business leaders and investors, with the aim of discovering innovative and practical methods for forming joint ventures.

As part of this Forum, which included opening sessions along with various plenary and thematic sessions, bilateral meetings were arranged for official delegations and private company representatives.

On the sidelines of the aforementioned forum, an exhibition showcasing mining and extraction products, along with a range of domestic export goods, was organized to highlight the production and export capabilities of the Republic of Tajikistan. The exhibition offered investors and leaders of foreign companies comprehensive information regarding the investment environment and prospects within the mining sector.

Following discussions and negotiations among representatives of official delegations and private enterprises, two new cooperation documents were signed.

This Forum is anticipated to highlight the potential of the country's mining sector, encompassing export prospects, fostering increased investment and the importation of advanced technologies in the future, as well as enhancing bilateral collaboration between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom in this area.
