Bahrain’s New Ambassador Begins Mission in Turkmenistan

Bassam Ahmed Ali Marzouk, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain (with a residence in Türkiye’s Ankara), has officially begun his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.

As part of his visit, he presented his credentials to Dunyagozel Gulmanova, Chairperson of the Turkmen parliament, and held a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Serdar Muhammetdurdyev, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

During the ceremony in the parliament, Gulmanova congratulated Ambassador Marzouk on behalf of the head of state and wished him success in advancing the Turkmenistan-Bahrain relations. The ambassador was briefed on key areas of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, as well as the activities and functions of the national parliament.

The discussions covered the current status and future prospects of cooperation across political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian sectors, with a special focus on strengthening inter-parliamentary relations.

At the Foreign Ministry’s meeting, Ambassador Marzouk highlighted the significance of Turkmenistan hosting the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries at the Avaza National Tourist Zone, describing it as a landmark event. He expressed his honor in representing Bahrain in Turkmenistan, praised the country’s role as a regional center of peace, and assured that he would work actively to further develop the Turkmenistan-Bahrain partnership.
