Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan Unite to Streamline Trade and Logistics

Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov has announced that Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan are set to create a network of wholesale and distribution centers and strengthen sustainable trade and logistics chains.

Kudratov made these remarks on the sidelines of the Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan trilateral summit, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

“Over the past few years, economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and both Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has been growing at a very active pace. Trade turnover with both countries has more than doubled. Most importantly, around 40 per cent of our trade consists of high value-added industrial goods. This shows that we are moving to a new level of economic interaction,” Kudratov said.

He added that the summit produced key decisions to deepen economic partnerships, particularly in trade cooperation and industrial collaboration. “The trade ministries of the three countries will work on preparing a comprehensive action plan aimed at developing sustainable trade and logistics chains,” he explained.

The plan will focus on establishing wholesale distribution hubs, simplifying market access across the three nations, and harmonizing phytosanitary and quarantine regulations.

“We will work on digital product labeling to enable seamless and rapid trade operations between our countries. Of course, we will also develop e-commerce and electronic trade,” Kudratov said, highlighting efforts to connect regional suppliers and producers directly with consumers.

“We will actively promote direct regional collaboration. Interregional cooperation will allow entrepreneurs from our regions to connect directly, and we are confident this interaction will yield tangible results very soon,” he concluded.
