Chinese Leader, Uzbek FM Discuss Trade, Connectivity, and SCO Cooperation

During an official visit to Beijing, Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov has met with Chinese President Xi Jinping to hold in-depth discussions on key issues concerning bilateral relations and strategic cooperation.

Saidov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to strengthening its comprehensive strategic partnership with China, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.

The two sides focused on the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, enhancing transport connectivity, and promoting humanitarian and cultural exchanges.

Saidov also emphasized the value Uzbekistan places on cooperation within multilateral platforms, particularly the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

“We reaffirm our commitment to strengthening cooperation within the SCO to promote prosperity for all member states, as well as to support regional stability and progress,” he stated.
