Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Kuchkarov, held a meeting with a delegation led by David Livingstone, Chief Client Officer at Citi Group.
The parties discussed issues related to the development of bilateral cooperation, the results of implemented projects, and the following priorities, The Caspian Post reports citing UzA.
The parties also exchanged views on Uzbekistan’s economic development processes. The parties focused on the consistent continuation of socio-economic reforms in Uzbekistan, acceleration of privatization processes, development of state-owned enterprises, and improvement of their competitiveness. The importance of implementing such projects as improving the quality of electricity supply and providing clean drinking water to the population through public-private partnerships was noted. The issue of comprehensive support for the private sector was also raised.
The participants exchanged views on strengthening cooperation with international sovereign rating agencies, supporting Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization, and studying experience in reducing inflation and ensuring economic stability.
