Uzbekistan and China are stepping up cooperation in the tourism sector, with both countries exploring new investment opportunities, modern tourism infrastructure and advanced digital technologies to boost the industry's growth.
Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee, met with Ji Xiaodong, Chairman of the Tourism Chamber of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, to discuss expanding bilateral tourism cooperation, The Caspian Post reports via UzA.
A key topic of the talks was the joint development of modern cable car systems in Uzbekistan's mountainous regions. The two sides also explored involving Chinese experts, who have extensive experience in building and operating similar tourism infrastructure.
The discussions covered a broad range of initiatives, including the participation of Chinese specialists in Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee project offices, the preparation of master plans for tourist destinations, improved investment project management, the adoption of BIM and GIS digital technologies, the implementation of international tourism standards, and technical project evaluations.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to launch joint training and professional development programs for project office staff. The programs will focus on modern project management, tourism infrastructure development, attracting investment, and applying international best practices.
