Uzbekistan’s Deputy Ministers of Economy and Finance Otabek Fozilkarimov and Ilhomjon Umrzakov have met with representatives of the Japanese company Sojitz Corporation to discuss prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation.
Sojitz, a leading global trading and investment firm, operates in energy and natural resources, chemical industry, transport and infrastructure, agriculture and food processing, and green energy, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.
With offices in over 50 countries, the company engages in major investment projects alongside public and private partners. The delegation included Kojiro Kishi, Head of the Health and Energy Division, Bakhrom Salomov, Director General of Sojitz Tashkent Liaison Office, and other officials.
The discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation, broadening areas of interaction, and key initiatives under public-private partnership (PPP) frameworks. Particular emphasis was placed on infrastructure projects, including the construction of modern multipurpose hospitals in regional areas, as well as potential new initiatives.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides agreed to continue developing collaboration, implement effective projects in the identified sectors, and strengthen experience and information exchange to further expand bilateral engagement.
