A high-level Uzbek delegation led by State Security Service Chairman Bahodir Kurbanov visited Kabul for talks with Acting Afghan Defense Minister Muhammad Yaqub, focusing on cross-border cooperation, logistics, and ongoing collaboration in key areas of mutual interest.
The Uzbek delegation included Farrukh Mukhtorov, Deputy Chairman of the State Security Service, Salimjon Khasanov, Commander of the Border Troops, alongside other senior officials, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
During the meeting, both parties addressed key regional security challenges, underscored the importance of maintaining strong neighborly ties, and expressed satisfaction with current economic cooperation levels. The Uzbek side reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s stabilization and economic recovery efforts, signaling a willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation.
Yaqub expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s constructive role on the Afghan issue at the international level and welcomed the growing ties between the two nations.
