Uzbekistan to Build Central Asia’s Largest Resort Complex

Uzbekistan is preparing to launch a large-scale tourism project in the southern region of Kashkadarya Region, with plans to develop what is expected to become one of the biggest resort complexes in Central Asia.

The project, named “Gelon” is being implemented with participation from business partners from Tatarstan, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

The initiative was discussed during meetings on the sidelines of the INNOPROM Central Asia exhibition, where Tatarstan's leader Rustam Minnikhanov held talks with Kashkadarya regional governor Murotjon Azimov.

The resort will be built in three phases and is designed to significantly boost tourism, attract investment, and create new jobs in the region.

The project has received backing from the leadership of Uzbekistan. Local authorities in Kashkadarya confirmed that the region will provide the necessary infrastructure to support its full implementation.

Once completed, the Gelon resort complex is expected to become a major tourism hub, strengthening Uzbekistan’s position as a growing destination for regional and international visitors.
