China’s Horizon Construction Development (CDHorizon) plans to expand its MEWP rental operations beyond China, exploring new markets in Africa and Central Asia to complement its existing footprint in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Türkiye.
The company’s international business now accounts for 15% of total revenue, growing from RMB389 million (€49 million) in 2024 to RMB1.4 billion (€176 million) by the end of 2025. CDHorizon operates 77 rental locations with 1,400 staff across Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, The Caspian Post reports via foreign magazine.
Despite adjusting its Chinese operations for lower domestic demand-including reducing its MEWP fleet from 216,000 to 200,700 units and downsizing its scaffolding and formwork fleet-the company saw rental revenue rise 12.3% to RMB5.2 billion (€650 million). However, engineering services and asset management divisions dropped sharply, contributing to an overall 20% decline in revenue to RMB9.36 billion (€1.18 billion). Net profit was RMB147 million (€18.5 million).
CEO Zhan Jing said: “During the year the Group strengthened its Southeast Asian position through the acquisition of Dongqing in Malaysia, while further expanding Middle East operations. The Group is also cautiously exploring potential markets in Africa and Central Asia.”
