Kazakhstan has launched its first scientific vivarium meeting international standards at Nazarbayev University, marking a major step forward for the country’s biomedical research.
According to Science and Higher Education Minister Saysat Nurbek, the facility will allow preclinical studies to be conducted entirely within Kazakhstan, boosting the nation’s position in biomedical research, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The vivarium also opens the door for foreign investment and pharmaceutical companies that previously had to conduct trials abroad.
The development of this scientific biotechnology center is considered a breakthrough, positioning Kazakhstan as a regional hub for medical, scientific, and pharmacological research. Nurbek emphasized that it is the first facility of its kind in Central Asia and offers the country a unique opportunity to host large-scale clinical and preclinical trials.
