Court Hands Long Sentences in Kyrgyz Child Trafficking Scandal

Police officers in Kyrgyzstan have revealed the results of a high-profile court case involving the sale of children abroad, which implicated citizens from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Israel.

The perpetrators received lengthy prison sentences along with asset confiscation, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

A Kazakh citizen purchased three children from a Kyrgyz national, while two more children were placed under full guardianship. The children were taken abroad, reportedly to be filmed for exploitative content intended for sale. An Israeli national was also involved in the operation.
