Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev has announced that to support Talas farmers this fall, the Kyrgyz government allocated 100 million soms ($8.298 million) for the purchase of 1,000 tons of beans at 95 soms ($0.0079) per kilogram.
Torobaev emphasized that this assistance comes at a critical time, assisting farmers prepare their children for school and university, while also stabilizing income during seasonal price drops, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry forecasts global bean prices to rise in early 2026, and the government is actively expanding export markets to India, Iran, Russia, Türkiye, and Dubai.
Farmers are also encouraged to diversify crops, including sugar beets and safflower, which can be used for oil, feed, and other products, assisting to reduce risks and ensure steady income despite market fluctuations.
