During a working visit to Hungary, First Deputy Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Daniyar Amangeldiev has met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó to review the results of the Kyrgyzstan-Hungary strategic partnership for 2025 and discuss further cooperation in 2026.
The officials highlighted the year’s constructive and fruitful interactions, including meetings between President Sadyr Japarov and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in May, Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev’s September talks with the Hungarian prime minister, and gatherings of the Strategic Council and the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in October and November, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Both sides praised the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund for supporting bilateral projects, with Hungary expressing readiness to increase the Fund’s capital to $45 million to benefit companies operating in Kyrgyzstan.
Cultural and educational ties were emphasized, particularly the Stipendium Hungaricum program, which annually enables up to 200 Kyrgyz citizens to study at Hungarian universities.
The officials also discussed cooperation within the EU, shared positions on sanctions, and reaffirmed a common stance on seeking a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, opposing further escalation.
