Georgia, Turkmenistan Commend Positive Dynamics in Political and Economic Ties

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

According to the government administration, during the face-to-face meeting, the conversation touched upon the existing friendly relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan and cooperation in various fields, The Caspian Post reports, citing Georgian media.

The positive dynamics of the development of bilateral political and economic ties were noted.

“The parties paid attention to the importance of connectivity and the development of the Middle Corridor. The Prime Minister spoke about the transport and logistics projects that aim to further strengthen Georgia’s transit function. The meeting also discussed the prospects for further development of cooperation in the transport and energy sectors.

Irakli Kobakhidze noted that Georgia welcomes Turkmenistan’s active efforts aimed at ensuring peace in Central Asia and spoke about the peace policy of the Georgian government.

The Prime Minister thanked the President of Turkmenistan for his support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders.

It was noted during the meeting that the signing of agreements between sectoral agencies within the framework of the official visit will contribute to the further expansion of areas of cooperation.

Irakli Kobakhidze invited Serdar Berdimuhamedow to pay an official visit to Georgia.

The President of Turkmenistan hosted the Prime Minister of Georgia at the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan,” reads the information.
