Putin highlighted the dramatic growth in economic ties, noting that Russia-China trade turnover has increased more than 30 times over the past 25 years. He also stressed that Russia remains a reliable supplier of energy resources, particularly amid global instability linked to the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.
Xi Jinping, in turn, emphasized that China and Russia “courageously and resolutely uphold international justice,” signaling continued political alignment between the two major powers.
During the talks, Putin extended an invitation for Xi to visit Russia next year, further reinforcing high-level diplomatic exchanges between Moscow and Beijing.
A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement to extend the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia, strengthening the long-term framework guiding their bilateral relations and cooperation across strategic sectors.
