Uzbekistan to Introduce 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for US Citizens Starting January 2026

Beginning January 1, 2026, US citizens will be able to visit Uzbekistan without a visa for up to 30 days, according to a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The move aims to strengthen trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties between the two countries, while also promoting tourism, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

Since 2021, Uzbekistan has already offered visa-free travel for US citizens aged 55 and older visiting the country for tourism for up to 30 days.

Plans to extend visa-free entry to all US citizens were first mentioned in the presidential decree issued on May 15, 2025, aimed at boosting international tourist arrivals to Uzbekistan.

The same document instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to hold talks with the United States on easing visa requirements for Uzbek citizens traveling to America - a step seen as part of a broader effort to enhance bilateral mobility and cooperation.
