Kazakhstan, Cyprus Eye Closer Ties in Politics, Trade, and Culture

Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev has had a phone talk with his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos, during which they discussed the current state of bilateral relations and explored prospects for cooperation in political, economic, trade, investment, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

The conversation comes soon after Kosherbayev’s recent appointment, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Kombos congratulated his Kazakh counterpart and expressed hope that the foreign ministries of both nations will uphold a “regular and constructive dialogue.”

Kosherbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s eagerness to deepen its partnership with Cyprus, highlighting promising cooperation in transport, logistics, digitalization, agriculture, tourism, and education.

The sides also exchanged views on pressing international issues and cooperation through regional and global organizations.

Kombos underlined Cyprus’ readiness to strengthen political dialogue, expand business cooperation, and boost exchanges with Kazakhstan - recognizing Kazakhstan’s growing role as a key partner in Central Asia.

Both sides concluded the call by reaffirming their mutual commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue and expanding multifaceted cooperation between Kazakhstan and Cyprus.
