Russia views Tajikistan as a reliable and close partner, Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoryev said, underscoring Moscow’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Dushanbe.
The ambassador noted that the level of political cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan remains high and stable, with relations built on strategic partnership and alliance, a solid legal framework, and mutual respect for each other’s interests, The Caspian Post reports via Tajik media.
Grigoryev noted that a key confirmation of the special nature of bilateral relations was President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Tajikistan in October, which gave fresh momentum to the development of cooperation across all areas.
“We regard Tajikistan as a reliable and close partner that plays an important role in ensuring stability and security in Central Asia. Russia is committed to the consistent strengthening of bilateral relations in the spirit of friendship, alliance, and mutual consideration of interests,” the ambassador said.
President Putin visited Dushanbe on October 8 to 12, resulting in the signing of 16 new cooperation agreements, further reinforcing the partnership between the two countries.
