Mysterious Petroglyphs Bring Kyrgyz Town Into Focus

Photographer Vlad Ushakov has highlighted Talas town, located in Kyrgyzstan, is emerging as one of the country’s most mysterious and least studied archaeological sites.

Ushakov recently shared a collection of striking photographs showcasing ancient carvings and inscriptions left behind by the region’s early inhabitants centuries ago, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“Every inscription is a message from the past. These silent images speak to those who take the time to listen,” Ushakov reflected, emphasizing the cultural and historical significance of the petroglyphs.

Experts note that while Talas town is gaining attention for its rock art, petroglyphs are widely found across almost all regions of neighboring Kazakhstan. The largest and most concentrated collections of these ancient carvings are located in the Turkistan, Zhambyl, Almaty, and Zhetysu regions.

The discoveries and ongoing studies in Talas town offer valuable insights into the region’s rich history and underscore the importance of preserving these ancient cultural landmarks for future generations.
